What to consider when buying your gi:
In Brazilian jiu-jitsu your gi is your armor, and a part of you. It's a part of every fight and sparring session. Therefore it must be included in your strategy, as so many tactics and techniques make use of the gi. At the same time, if you're a beginner, your first gi doesn't have to matter much except that it fits . The more expensive gis are usually worth the money because they're better tailored and a bit tougher over the long-run. I started with a fifty-dollar gi, and wearing that one gave me the experience I needed to choose a better one a few months later.
